SEO Agency East London sometimes recommends other businesses to clients, and sometimes receives recommendations in return. Occasionally money changes hands when that happens. This page explains those arrangements openly, so that you can weigh any recommendation we make with full knowledge of whether we have a financial interest in it.
A recommendation is only worth something if the person receiving it can trust the motive behind it. Where a referral arrangement exists, it should be disclosed rather than discovered. Publishing this page is also consistent with UK consumer protection and advertising rules, which require commercial relationships behind a recommendation to be made clear.
SEO is rarely the only thing a business needs. In the course of our work we are frequently asked to recommend web developers, hosting providers, designers, photographers, copywriters, paid advertising specialists, CRM and email platforms, or SEO software.
Where we recommend another business, one of the following applies:
Where the third applies, we will tell you at the point we make the recommendation, not afterwards. You are always free to use a different supplier, and doing so will not affect the service we provide to you.
A significant share of our work comes from recommendations by past clients, developers, agencies and other businesses who know our work. In most cases no payment is involved. Where we have agreed to pay a referral fee to someone who introduces a client to us, that fee is paid by us out of our own income. It does not increase the price you pay, and our fees are not adjusted according to how a client found us.
Some pages on this website may in future link to third-party tools or services using affiliate links, which means we could receive a small commission if you sign up through them. Where such links are used, they will be identified as affiliate links on the page concerned. Using them is entirely optional and costs you no more than going to the provider directly.
This is the part that matters. Our policy is straightforward:
If you would prefer that we only suggest suppliers we have no financial relationship with, say so and we will work on that basis.
We may from time to time offer a thank-you to clients who recommend us to another business, such as a discount on a future invoice or a credit against ongoing work. Where any such scheme is running, its terms will be explained to the client taking part, and it does not affect the price quoted to the business being referred.
We are not owned by, and do not act as a reseller for, any website platform, SEO tool or hosting provider. We hold no arrangement that requires us to recommend a particular product. Where we suggest a specific tool, it is because we consider it appropriate for the task, and we are happy to explain the reasoning and the alternatives we considered.
You are entitled to ask, in relation to any supplier we suggest, whether we have a financial interest in the recommendation. We will answer honestly and specifically. If we ever fail to disclose something we should have, please raise it under our complaints policy.
We will update this page if our arrangements change. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
